‘30 Days of Texas’ encompasses thirty bold, miniature paintings, comprising of fifteen vertical and fifteen horizontal compositions, painted with acrylic and ink, in varying degrees of detail. Drawing influences from Pop Art and painted in Texas, the value, humour and beauty of everyday objects, events and occurrences that makes up our lives, is made abundantly clear, through the use of bold colours, contrasted with the metallic notes of gold, bronze, copper and silver. These dramatic miniatures stacked together provide a fun, upbeat tableau to remind the viewer to appreciate the small things in life. View the collection.
‘Long Way There’ is an on-going series of delicate, free-hand architectural landscapes on paper using fine pen, in varying sizes. This series is inspired by my travels within Europe, predominantly Italy, and the two years I spent in the city of Bath. The earthy colour of the ink and the muted tones reflect on time gone past, slowly drawing the viewer closer, to experience layer upon layer of meticulous detail in the deliberate lines depicting the artistry in prodigious architecture around the world.
